Like fools, we decided we were going to taste a bunch of barley wines in one night. Throwing caution and common sense to the wind, we figured, why not taste 7 different 10% ABV beers in one night? We're splitting it between a bunch of us, it shouldn't be too bad, right?
Well, we made a few mistakes:
1) We stopped over at Inland Empire Brewing first to kick off the night. This was cool and all, but their beer is too good to NOT have a few tasters...
2) Decided to go get dinner at the Yardhouse. Hey, they carry Dogfish Head 90 Minute! You can't pass that up!
By the time we start on barley wine, we've already got one man down and out on the couch. No worries, we say, and press on. Me, my lovely girlfriend Sara and Steve sit down with pen and paper and we are going to very professionally write our opinions on each barleywine.
Well, we managed to drink 6 of the 7. And nobody managed to drive a car home that night. And let's just say, by the end of the reviewing session, the reviews were getting ugly. I left my notes over there, but I'll be posting my reviews of these beers soon. Hilarity just might ensue.
